BSI change and electric mirror add
-> 206 Problems

#1: BSI change and electric mirror add Author: SamanthasHubby, Location: Scunthorpe PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:18 am

Hi all

Just a couple of questions if you can help me out!

I have another BSI unit from a 02 206 lx (same year as mine - but mine is a base model) is it possible to swap them out without having to map the key transponder to it? I wouldn’t have thought you can but I’d thought I would ask.

Also I have the electric mirrors from the same car to fit to mine but when I connect up the switch for the mirrors and windows it keeps blowing the fuse - worked it out to be the window switch for the drivers side - old switch has micro switches for the window but new one has rubber contacts for the switch - can I change them (looks like it was auto shut on the donor car) and what do I need to fix the issue?

Hope someone can point me in the right direction!

Cheers
Simon

As far as I can recall (was once looking if it was possible to get one touch on the passenger window too) the wiring looms for non-one-touch vs one-touch-closing (A on the switch) for the driver window are different (which wires go where in the connector), which is why the fuse blows.

You'd have to figure out the differences and modify/rearrange the wires in the harness plug to suit the switch.

One touch passenger window plus total closure of factory alarm system isn't that difficult on a 206, it's been done before.

It will be far easier to just find a electric window / mirror switch that doesn't have built in one touch to solve the fuse blowing issue.

External relays/timer modules, or something like that, IIRC? (At the time I was looking for a switch-internal solution)

External module - it's the wiring that's a headache, especially if you want total closure from factory locking / alarm.

Abou the BSI question,you can't use a used BSI unit,unless you get the key,and ECU to match,so that you can start the car,other wise car will not start,and ECU will be locked.

if you have a donor car with all the gadgets,you can swap things back to your car,and everything will work as charm,including the wiring from the door back to the BSI,...etc.

Good Luck
