The numberplate thing on the bonnet is also illegal. MOT stations are cracking down on it.

The numberplate thing on the bonnet is also illegal. MOT stations are cracking down on it. |

Afraid not... it hasn't been legal since 1973... A decent thread from the owners clubs tells all: www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/...ageIndex=1
Looks a nice car, I was looking at MX-5s for ages until the large amount of miles I was doing caught up with me. Ended up with Mazda3 instead

So even though mine is before 2001 (when the regs came in) i need a new plate anyways?

Afriad so mate. It might go through an MOT, it just depends on who and what the tester is like.

That'll be brilliant fun when it's done! Heard the Mk1's are superb wee cars
Is it a 1.6 or 1.8? Don't really know much about them to be honest
And are you planning on selling it after it's all tidied up?

And yes it will be sold at the end of it, hopefully made to mint condition
Few more jobs needed to be done, and history tracing
