So over the last few weeks ive noticed my car has developed a rattle noise from the engine bay. On closer inspection it sounds like its coming from the the left side of the engine, somewhere around where the timing belt is. Now ive only just had a full service, inc timing belt change, but this problem was apparent before it went in, so i cant imagine its something to do with that. It only sounds when the car is idle, not so much when i press a little on the accel pedal, then it sounds like a typical diesel.

Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers!

Sounds as though it might be either or both the idler wheel or the tension wheel, did you have the full kit fitted or just the belt? Do something about this now, otherwise your new belt will come off, probably breaking the camshaft as it does so! Sam

Cheers for the insight guys! I also need to add that if i slightly turn the steering wheel it stops? Anything to do with PS?

Yeah Sam i know they fitted a new kit, they recommended me do that so i thought what the heck, may as well.

But ill definitely ask the garage sometime this week about the Crank Pulley MrBSI, If say there is a problem with it, whats the garage bill going to be like?

Cheers dudes!
