#6: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: burga_hdi, Location: Goole East yorksPosted: Tue Feb 16, 2010 5:27 pm ---- looking good mate keep up good work and get some pics of the mods
Nice project! Is the EGR just disconnected or removed completey?
EGR has been removed...
Quarmbo the only thing that i do...is been removed the FAP... the exhaust line is the same
but i will change for a new one... 60 mm direct exhaust..
the removed of FAP its a usual around here... its need a good eletronic...if is not...the car dont work correct...and put the new downpipe..
the new downpipe have this threaded holes to fit the sensors..

ZOMG... someone has actually removed the FAP!!! i love you mate! lol
any issues with removing it? and how was it removed from the car? did you just stick the new pipe on and plug the sensors back in or was the FAP mapped out of the ECU?
i'm going to be getting mine done shotly.
edit: oops, i didn't read the whole thread...
180HP! sweet!
are you changing the DMF for a SMF and what clutch you planning on using?

i said...eletronic and fisically...
you need to plug the sensors back in the new downpipe...and mapped the ECU its almost the same as a REMAP... to fake in ECU that the FAP is there..and put standard values... is the only solution to avoid SAFES
#10: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: twed207, Location: borders, near carlisle.Posted: Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:08 pm ---- why put the sensors back in? if they've been mapped off the ECU then you can remove them completely surely???
#11: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: FLaCk, Location: PortugalPosted: Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:12 pm ---- i dont now the mean of "DMF for a SMF"
well the solution is to strengthen clutch...

DMF = Dual Mass Flywheel
SMF = Single Mass Flywheel
and i think that's going to be the way forward for the clutches, upgrading a standard one...

well if you look under the car or opening the hood the Police or in the annual inspection at the car at the first look its almost like stock... is to avoid problems with the police
the sensors need to be placed only to signal the presence... and i have performs more than 3 years and never gave trouble...

SMF = Single Mass Flywheel

ah! i get it now!
well the dual mass have a capacity to support until 350 nm...and you dont reach only whit a new map...so....
to reach more power...well use the same clutch..but more stronger... if not I am mistaken the material that is using is kevlar its for a life

Any chance of produce one of downpipe for the FAP system so we can produce here for others so its will be fitted same time as remap?
So this would work better?
#16: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: twed207, Location: borders, near carlisle.Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:33 pm ---- guy, the EGR come into the inlet manifold at the top left of the engine bay...
#17: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:35 pm ---- took mine out the other day and give it a clean. and managed to touch the white rag and nows its black woops.
#18: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: twed207, Location: borders, near carlisle.Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:55 pm ---- how u take it off mate? just unscrew the screw/bolts where it fixes to the inlet manifold?
#19: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:57 pm ---- i took it off from the top where you have pictured i only done it as i drop a socket down thier and that was the only was to get it so why is was out gave it a clean and put it back on its just two torx and it pulls out qutie a tight fit.
#20: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: FLaCk, Location: PortugalPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:31 pm ---- well the EGR its located behind the Air Filter... so...its the other side... the picture that twed207 shows the end of EGR...
the EGR is this...
well the car work very well without FAP and EGR... the temperatures of removing FAP reduced drastically and gave the health of turbo
I do not have the outline of the suppressor of FAP... but its very easy to make...
only need to copy the FAP...a pipe of iron or steel 60 mm serves perfectly...you need to plug the sensors back in the pipe... but what really matters is the new software... without it is better to be quiet...
in some versions of software ... the PSA program has the option to turn off or on the FAP... this case my car has a new version of software peugeot... and have the option...but most 206 1.6hdi do not have..its comon to see em citroen c4...peugeot 407...
but did not want to take risks in simply turning off by the program ... then created a new map...
#21: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:39 pm ---- so if we got a update on the software thier sould be an options where by you just turn it off?
or do you need it mapped out of the system?
#22: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: FLaCk, Location: PortugalPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:47 pm ---- its better to mapped out of the system...
well... you put some values of FAP...between...
to understand...this...you need to understand how the FAP system works...
have a sensor before and after in FAP ... that indicates the values that this moment in this running...
so...you have to give false values to ECU...To avoid problems and errors...is why it puts the sensors back in the new pipe... to avoid errors...
....
the new software of PSA not known if avoiding errors... so for sure...you need the mapped the ECU...
only a master in the remapped´s .... do this...
#23: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:56 pm ---- thats is what i gatherd, i have done a bit of reading on fap. and am understanding how it works. i want to get this done end of this year can you not run a new turbo back pipe with the sensors tapped into it?
#24: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: FLaCk, Location: PortugalPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 6:10 pm ---- you can put another turbo in this pipe... or make a new one...to fit on turbo... dont have any problems...
so if you know how the FAP works..its easy to trick the system...
#25: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: twed207, Location: borders, near carlisle.Posted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:44 pm ---- FLaCK,
with you waying the 'new version' of software... i presume you mean the software that comes with the second generation of the DV6TED4? as my car has slightly different parts than yours does...
anyway... i'm still getting it mapped out by a remapper.
#26: Re: 206 1.6 HDI Author: FLaCk, Location: PortugalPosted: Fri Feb 19, 2010 5:57 pm ---- my car have a differents parts than the others 206´s... more recent...
supply oil to the turbo... for example...
