does it feel like when the engines off and you press the brake (i.e no engine assistance?) or does it feel like somethings jamming / getting in the way of the pedal or rod?

sounds really dangerous, you want to get it sorted before you continue driving tbh

there's a test you can do, to rule out the servos not faulty, with the car parked up and the engine running, pump the foot pedal a few times
until it goes solid. then switch the engine off.
Then lightly touch the break pedal downwords, they shouldn't be any resistance at all.
This test can rule out your servo.

just done the test the pedal didnt go solid after a few pumps . i could hear a sucking noise when i push the pedal then i turned the engine off and the pedal went solid? is there a service kit you can buy to service the servo? or is a easier and cheaper to replace the servo
