#1: brake pedal Author: dumdum0910, Location: letchworthPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2011 6:24 am ---- some times when im driving my brake pedal goes solid as if something is behind it stopping it and when i realese and push on it again it goes back to normal. what could the problem be as it starting to get scary slowing from 70 :O. its got new pads on the front aswell

sounds really dangerous, you want to get it sorted before you continue driving tbh

until it goes solid. then switch the engine off.
Then lightly touch the break pedal downwords, they shouldn't be any resistance at all.
This test can rule out your servo.

with engine switched off pump the pedal till it becomes hard.
then start up, the pedal then should go to the floor without much force.(thats the servo working)
