Wise words from Edward. They are pig to get my wishbones in the subframe with the polybushes in.

Otherwise the wishbones are angled down to clear the hub when sliding them into the subframe. That means the bushes get jammed on the way in. There must be about 0.00001 mm clearance between bush and subframe.

No. They have two metal bearings/bushes instead of the normal one rubber and one metal bush that's fitted to GTi/ XSI/CC models.

Have now got Wishbones and 180 driveshafts. I ordered Lemforder ones but they messaged me to say they only have Moog in stock and have offered a 3 year warranty. Have also ordered a full set of Polybushes which should arrive next week. Also I need to make time to pick up my new Subfame bolts from the dealers.

I'm pretty sure I will need 180 hubs also.

180, 138 and DW10 hubs are all the same. Basically anything that uses a BE4 gearbox uses the same hubs.

I've been told it it will be around 215hp once mapped.

I reassembled the front end a couple of weeks back, and tarted up the driveshafts and knuckles. But I am still stuck with this gearbox mount, it just isn't the right size for the BE1 box, and a 205 mount won't work either...

You thought about swapping that fuel rail for one with JIC fittings?

You can connect to the standard Peugeot fuel pipe under the car.

The threaded bar on the gearbox is too thick for the hole, because this is a Be1 box from a 205 it's not really meant to fit.. should I just get another gearbox?

Where can i get one of those? That sounds good.

I've got the mount from the old Picasso box of mine. I will measure it.

Actually the mounting stud isn't there anymore. It's 12mm anyway!
That's the end that goes into the mount on the gearbox anyway.

The strange thing is it fits just fine in the standard mount that came with the car

Hi all.

Some developments. The GTi-6 Engine was wider than the 206 mounting points would accept, resulting in the engine sitting on the twist. The solution to this would have involved various cut and shut attempts at repositioning engine mounting points to get it to sit straight. I could have continued at high expense to get this done, only possibly to find that the electronics involved with my late model somehow preventing the older engine from working; even with an Omex.

Equation: Unsupported late model Multiplex Fly By Wire set up + Older Pre-plex Cable Body Engine + Re-welding Engine Points + After-market Management = Possible Recipe for Disaster.

I didn't want to take the car beyond the point of no return. So I bought my old 1.6 8v engine back, as it was with Cometic MLS gasket and Kent PT40 camshaft. I have purchased a Series 1 106 Rallye inlet plenum (for the second time now!) and still have the adaptor plate that my friend made for me to accept my FBW throttle body all those years ago. So next up is a "00-00" Z02 cylinder head to accept this inlet plenum to sort the top end, which I will get port and polished with three angle valve seats, and some larger model Peugeot injectors to stop it leaning out too much.

When I put the car in storage, the thrust bearing was shot, making it hard to select gears. I have today ordered a Helix upgraded thrust bearing. There is a GTi180 brake master cylinder waiting to fit, as well as various poly-bushes. My final part on order is a low 5th gear from the Citroen AX 4x4, which will drop my 70mph rpm from 3250 to 2900. Apart from this, all I need to do is source PAS pipes from an earlier model which go down the left hand side, nicely tucked away rather than going across the exhaust manifold, and I'm pretty much set to have this car back on the road.

I enjoyed meeting Stewart, Sim, and Matt at this year's Pugfest; my first in 4 years. So even though the forum is quiet, members are still socially active.
