#1: 206 SW 2.0 HDI Author: spud_gti, Location: Nottingham PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2016 10:33 am

Hi all, I'm back but in something alot slower and more spacious than before, thought i would start a project thread so i can keep track of the old girl.

life takes its hold and im now the proud dad to two mini me's, two dogs a cat and a beautiful wife.... we have a VW touran for the family duties and the 206 was given to me from my mum as shes gone to a Volvo now.... still got my mk1 under a cover so hopefully the pug isnt too much of a distraction from that.

not got any real plans with this one but the dream list would be to have it at stage 2 on a nice set of wheels and a healthy drop....

for now im hovering my head over a few things on the bay so will see how much of my bonus i can keep back for the pugs mods

it will be power first so any tips or best things to buy would be helpful then im faced with either keeping it a bit of a sleeper or have a nicely modified SW...?

opinions welcomed, will try to get some pics up as she stands soon...

Replied spud_gti

Couple photos to get you started.

Not the neatest but has proved a function and allowed me to up the boost and retain the stock air box for OEMness

Brill, cheers fella, is it best to keep the stock filter then? Or should I be looking at a decent cone?

cheers

Stock airbox and a new filter has no effect really on power vs a cone...tested on a dyno.

had a little look over the car at the weekend as I only had a spare hour with the kids, the front discs look a bit tired so Im looking at upgrading them at the same time, what is a straight swap?

Can I fit xsi / gti calipers and discs? are they much different from what the car comes with stock??

Will I be able to fit 180 front brakes or will the hub need changing also??

Any help is appreciated.

GTi 140 discs are 266mm from what I've seen. Same as what is on the 2.0HDi. Not sure on piston size if thats any different

GTi 180 brakes will fit with the 283mm discs but you will need to run 16"+ wheels (generally)

I fitted some 307 HDi D-Turbo discs, pads and calipers to my XUD 206 and that worked fine. They were 283mm just had to run nimrods. Some 15" wheels will fit but its very tight.

Brill, cheers fella, might just end up getting some new discs and pads for the time being then go the 180 route
