Following my wobbly wheel fault, my worst fears have come true and the whole rear axle needs replacing Crying or Very sad needless to say I know its an expensive job! no chance anyone is breaking one, or knows a good breakers yard in the Newcastle/South Shields area?

pringles scrap yard, i bought my GTI axle from there for £110 i think they have a few drum ones which will sell for £75-£100, then Dturbopeck fitted it for a small fee

Just come of the phone to a breakers yard in the isle of white from 'breakeryard.com' and quoted me £100 for the axle, waiting for a reply to find out postage charge, im assuming it'll be expensive!

EDIT: he just bumped it up by £50! £220 to get it posted here, a tad too high, the search continues Very Happy

get on ebay and look for 206 axle or try 206 breaking then set to nearest first Smile

Any one know the name and size of the mounting bolts holding the axle to the car? I'm trying to find one or at least the price for one
206 3dr 1.4 GLX modified slightly, Green Induction kit, Lowered 35mm on full Gmax kit, GTI rear axle (still to be lowered to match the front again), 17" AEZ xylo alloys 205/45/17, 4" Savage back box,
More to be done in the future. Searching for good priced parts.

ebay is your best bet mine went few months back picked one up for 80 n fitted for 80 so all in all 160 which i think is average considerin they take everything off the back to fit it Smile

Ebay is what im considering now, getting an average of around £110+VAT from a breakers, hoping to pay under £200 including fitting!
