Hi All,

I have a 2001 (Y) CC 2.0 with 70k

Driving it today in 5th, approached a Hill, dropped the car into 4th, put my foot back on the accelerator and heard an enormous BANG! and then there was no drive. The car just rolled to a stop.
You can put the car in gear and take your foot completley off the clutch in any gear and there is just no drive.

Since I have owned the car (Among countless other faults, completley ridiculous for a car that has been purchased from a dealer) the clutch has 'juddered' when trying to pull away. Hasn't slipped though.

I'm guessing it is a new clutch at the least as there has been no other noises from the clutch/gearbox, only it was sometimes tricky to get 3rd gear, but I think that is common for 206's

Anyone else had this problem?
I have read on here that the 180's sometimes suffer with a juddering clutch.

Thanks.

Do they just go like that then? Is it a common fault?
Like I said, 3rd is sometimes tricky to engage. Sometimes 2nd and 4th too.

Not that I am too fussed. I'm not paying for the work, whatever has gone!

Thanks for such a quick response.

Just before it went, I had driven through an icey cold ford? Possibly related?
Engine still runs as it always has (Slightly Rough!)
Just had a new coil pack today too! (under warrenty)

Good luck with the new box. Hope it goes better than the previous 2.

Yours has the BE box, there normally bulletproof.

Spate of gearboxes lately on here & not all of them MA as you would expect.

What is the MA box? Is it in the less powerful models? Or luck of the draw which one you get?

Car has been knocking at low speed when steering lock is applied. Not Clicking, it is a knock. Sounds like driveshafts banging.

Also, I have been hearing a ticking noise (like manifold leak noise, but it is 100% not an exhaust leak) so possibly related? Ticking is most noticable from 1500revs through 4500revs (may be higher, but I don't thrash it)

Thanks again for the responses guys

MA box is for smaller engines.

You will have a BE box.

There is a known noise issue with the exhaust manifold, official Peugeot fix is the 4 pipes inside need a tickle with the welder to stop them rattling.

The ticking isn't an exhaust leak.
That is the most similar noise that I can compare it too.

The manifold was checked out and was all ok.

It looks like this CC will be going back to the garage for good though.
Hoping to get an equivilent one though. Just waiting to hear back from the finance company.
