My Phase One 1.4 8v

This is a little long overdue considering I've had the car since January this year and already have had quite a bit done.
So where do I start...

I picked my 52 plate 206 up for £1000 with 11 months MOT and 6 months tax with full service history through Peugeot and 3 previous owners with 65k on the clock.

So It Started...

After only owning the car two days I needed to get it off the steels and traveled down to Ramsgate to pick up a set of Nimrods, they were in OK condition with some scuffing and some cracked paint work but for £110 with tires with over 5mm tread on each I couldn't complain.
This is the earliest picture I have of the car with the Nimrods already fitted.

Next up came a purchase from a member of here (Hammer206) I picked up a set of smoked side repeaters, black front badge, black lexus style lights which were smoked and a set of genuine Peugeot locking nuts.

I never really liked the lexus style lights to much but they were better than the phase one lights... No what am I saying they were f*****g dreadful, hey-ho you live and learn... and then hide shamefully.
P.S there for sale if anyone wants them, although I suspect I probably couldn't give them away; £20 delivered.

I also went ahead and de-badged the car with a heat gun and dental floss which worked OK but left some glue marks that I couldn't shift initially, so that go wet sanded and machine polished up.

Unfortunately so many days later I had to get the cam belt done and decided to get the AUX belt and pump changed to whilst I was at it. So an empty wallet later and the car stopped squealing like a pig.

Next up was getting it lowered as the car rolled so much when cornering and looked like it was on stilts when stationary. After a stroke of luck with a friend and managing to obtain a set of FK Automotive coilovers brand new for free (He owed me quite a few pints), I set about getting them fitted.
After some research on here Addaz kindly enough offered to do the job for £..(you'll have to ask him for quotes). So travelled up to ISLA Motors met Addaz and had the coilovers and dampers fitted. Run in to problem with the dampers being too short for what I wanted. As for how low she is I couldn't actually tell you, I agreed with Addaz on how high based on distance from arch to wheel and he set about it. A few adjustments later and I couldn't be happy with how she sits now though and how decent Addaz was about doing it all at short notice.

Unfortunately (AGAIN!!!) Addaz noticed I had a slight head gasket leak after fitting the coilovers... royally p**sed I was. So once back in London it was booked in to have it done along with new discs and pads to be fitted; and as my luck would have it my radiator went literally less then 50m for the garage so that had to be done to. Another empty wallet later and she was skimmed and replaced and running like she should be.

A couple of small little purchase come after that with the recently burnt hole in my pocket in the way off a K&N panel filter and a pair of Team Heko wind deflectors, nothing major but a decent addition none the less.

Eventually the day had come when I was sick of staring at the lights, not to mention being pulled over once a week because of them. So I set about looking for new ones.
I really wanted a set of M3 style lights but I just couldn't find them anywhere on the net that sold them, so I gave up and settled for these instead..

I also went ahead and bought a SP Bonnet vent from Justh, Non SP Grille to from Razpulsed and a spare SP fuel cap off eBay to colour code to the car. I also de-wipered the rear whilst I was at it too using a 24mm grommet from Halfrauds.

Next up was getting rid of the nasty frosted headlights for a set of crystals from Jamie off of here for the decent price of £30. Collected and fitted the next day and popped in to a local Peugeot place to have the H4 to H7 converted the right way.

With FCS around the corner there was one last purchase I wanted before I went and that was an exhaust. I searched for a while with the more commonly known exhaust brands to no avail and stumbled upon a full cat back Sportex exhaust with 3" tailpipe for just under £200. After a lot of f*****g about on the company's behalf with the delivery it finally arrived and fitted it myself which was a royal pain in back side.

Travelled down to Somerset the day before FCS to stay at the father in laws house so I could spend the day cleaning the car inside and out (5 hours of cleaning to be exact) and after a lot of elbow grease and quite a lot of swearing over how bloody hot it was, here are some photos.

She don't scrub up to bad if I do say so myself.

I went ahead and bought a GTI steering wheel, GTI spoiler and a replacement passenger door (after some little f****r tried to break in to the car, must of thought it was a ford.) for £100 which was a bargain as they are immaculate with the wheel only seen 30k miles. The only downside is there in EXL but as I'm a owed few more pints there being re-sprayed as we speak in EXY including fitted for sod all.
I'll update with some pictures once they fitted.

I've still got a few things to do though. The bonnet needs a re-spray or replacing due the amount of stone chips; The roof needs re-spraying as a previous owner clearly left some bird s**t sitting on there to long and it's got some lacquer peel; The rear bumper needs replacing due to a previous owners prang.
As for modification wise there isn't much left. Have wheels refurbished and powder coated; Colour code and repair the exterior bump strips including all exterior plastics; Phase two boot handle; Black LED top brake light and fog light; Masked crystals; Spray both Bonnet and Bumper Grille Black; Full 180 Interior.

Long term once the engine has had it day I would love to turn it in to a track day car/project build by stripping it and sticking a V6 lump in it, but we will cross that bridge when we come to. By then I'll probably just buy something Japanese instead but we will see. But for now I'm enjoying the little 206. Living in London it's an ideal city car.

Some nice subtle improvements. Nothing too tacky.
You could have done with spending a few quid on a proper bonnet stay though.

A lot of subtle yet very effective mods. My favourite is definitely the rear lights. They go so well with the colour of the car. Keep us updated! Very Happy

Cant tell if you're being sarcastic or serious, i'll explain though. Car up on stands to remove the arches and the bonnet hit the ceiling racks so couldn't get it fully extended.

I have to agree with you, not really many decent options for rear lights, they're smoked black to which the photos don't really show. Thanks though dude Very Happy

Thanks man Smile I've done a bit more since but I'll be updating after I get back from the end of year expo @ Donington.

The exhaust is 3" sportex cat back system, I can't honestly remember what website I got it from just check to see where the company is based because if its Scotland then avoid them, caused me a s**t tonne of hassle, think the exhaust can be bought on eBay though.

The lights at also from FK Automotoive, there are two types available, LED & bulb ones or all bulb ones like mine and they come in clear lensed or smoked black like mine.

They were a nightmare to deal with constantly chasing up where it was and being told tomorrow blah blah, useless t**ts.
You still going Donnington though mate? If so where abouts you coming from?
Like the sports rear end too, had to get one myself as the tailpipe was poking to much on mine without it.

So it's been a while again... and surprise surprise I've been very busy, I cannot remember the exact order a lot of stuff happened but it doesn't matter to much. Also I didn't take many photos when I was doing a lot of this stuff as I can never be bothered there is however just some update shots at the end of this of how the car is looking now.

Last time I posted I was getting a new door fitted and sprayed along with a new spoiler too which has been done for quite some time now, very happy to have the door fixed as it was a little bit of an eye sore.

Sometime after that I had a complete drum brake overhaul as the old one's where shot and I couldn't get them open without damaging them, so they've been done.
I did consider switching out to discs but I'd rather wait until the axle gives up on me and replace it for a GTI axle along with the torsion bar and some better spec adjustable shock absorbers.

Also changed a few things on the inside.
Replaced the steering wheel with a leather GTI one which is in immaculate condition and a lot nicer to drive with, recommend switching to a GTI one to anyone who hasn't yet, really easy to do to.

Bought a few things off of Harry from on here;
Picked up a new airbag unit as I managed to snap off one of the prongs on the underside of my old one.
A sports rear bumper as the sportex exhaust was sticking out to much for my liking which solved that problem, plus the old one had some minor scratch damage on one of the bottom corners.
A new comms unit as mine was failing badly.
A GTI speedo surround which paired up nicely with the steering wheel.

Also nabbed some door mouldings/strips at a later date which I sanded down and re-sprayed from scratch as they were in EXL and not EXY. Couldn't tell the difference from afar but it bugged me enough to rectify it in the end.

All in all a decent buy from Harry as everything was in great condition and definitely worth the hassle of a late night drive to pick it up.

Also switched out my top brake light for an LED one and Fog light for an LED one too which I got off of another user from here, "furryhobnob". Again more great condition stuff which had barely been used.

Replaced the phase 1 boot strip for a phase 2 strip. It's in EXL for now and I'll get it sprayed up in EXY as when I get time.
Also had to clean up the ghosting marks left by the old PH1 boot strip badge outline, a little annoying but did expect it as the badges caused the same issues.
Most recent purchase has been Cupra R front splitter, a common and not very original addition I know but it looks nice and very subtle close to OEM looking mod.

These where taken the day before Donington after the standard pre show prep, which didn't seem to go unnoticed either as I got a few compliments on how mirror like the paint work was and considering it's only my 2nd show with the Pug & having only recently spent more time indulging in detailing I was pretty chuffed to say the least.

Winter Plans:
Planning to get the bonnet re-sprayed over the winter and also the wheels finally refurbished.
Looking to find a non-sport with fogs front bumper replacement but in no real rush for that.
Also looking for some new front wings as it's cheaper than repairing the current lacquer peel behind the 'look' stickers on both sides, hence why they're even still on the car.
Some new tires will be bought very soon as the rears are getting very close to the end of their life's and with an MOT in December I'm hoping to have her in a sailing through state.
