#1: 206 Gt Turbo track car Author: 206gt160, Location: Blackburn PostPosted: Sun Aug 02, 2015 8:12 am

Decided to start a new thread.

Here is my 206 Gt that will be mainly used as a track car with the occasional weekend outing.

She is low miles at only 72,000 miles.

The modifaction's list is below.

Fast road cams
180 inlet manifold
180 exhaust manifold
180 injectors and rail
180 alternator
Decat straight through stainless exhaust
Gti6 70mm Throttle body
Gti6 ICV
Gti6 Throttle position sensor
Gti6 front drilled and grooved disks
Gti6 calipers
Shortshifter
Momo racing 260mm steering wheel
D2 billet steering wheel boss
AVO coilovers
Flocked dash
Flocked steering column surround
Carbon wrapped centre console
carbon cold air intake with 70mm samco
Morrette headlights
Black sp bonnet grill
SP headlight trim grill (either side of pug badge)
Stripped out rear seats (still have rear seats)
New drop links fitted
Epman competition tow strap
Phase 2 black floor carpets
De-wipered rear window
Tinted windows
New ty rod and track rod ends
Pressed metal plates
Proffesionally fully undersealing

The car has had quite a lot of work to it and is nearly ready for the first track outing.

Pulls really well through every gear a big improvement over the standard Gti inlet and throttle body.. its jumped from a 54mm to 70mm throttle body.

Still yet to have a remap after the inlet change but it has only driven twice for around 15 minutes in total.

I would think on the current set up the car is probably in the the range of 170-180 bhp and 190-200nm of torque.

I know soon enough it will be remapped and be out on a track day

Need to make some alterations for the weight such as

Fibre glass/pvc door cards
Possibly trimming the passenger side dash and glovebox/airbag
Sound proofing removed
Speakers removed
All of the plastic trim

The 4th wheel bolt rolled under the car so I just took a quick snap but the bolt is now torqued up in place Smile

I like the Gt bumpers but they aint to everyones taste.. it will look better after the car has been dropped at the rear end. Its still sitting higher at the back.

She is coming along but there is still tonnes of work to do on her yet.

Yes it is Smile with a thermostat that has had the egr port blanked off so that it clears the manifold and a decent enough size (cheap) cooler. Now its time to get hold of a volvo turbo possibly. Looking for something that will be capable of 240bhp mark that will be small enough for quicker spool up times.. maybe even end up with anti-lag further down the line Evil or Very Mad

I was tempted by this kit but it contained so little it was no kit at all.

The intercooler you may as throw in the bin, highly unefficent! Best get a straight through cooler or top to bottom entry

Id recommed atleast a gt2871

It will be a little rocket when it's finished. It isn't for sale it's going on the Gt.
It has a t3 Turbo flange currently. I need a small volvo/saab style turbo to go with the kit before I start to make the turbo downpipe etc.
The price I paid for it was an absolute bargain at £150, and I'm not sure if I will be using this intercooler or using a different set up. I will be using 2 or 2.5 inch pipework. I will see how responsive it is with this cooler before I jump into buying a new one. I could quite easily sell the intercooler and get hold of a decent one. As for the manifold if I wanted to have one made or buy one off the shelf as it would be way over £150, so to me it's well worth the price

The car will be around 240-260bhp mark.. uncertain on torque yet, which is more than enough for me.. no plans for big boost. If I can get the car down to 950-1000kg it will be a very fast little car. I hope to have the turbo side of things sorted in the next 6-8 months. Then its on to the parts needed to get the power down like the LSD. Then on to Anti-Lag that I will be setting up if I get into hill climbs. It was bought off the 206 facebook site. All used but it's now cleaned up and sprayed with high temp paint which will keep it shiney for now.

For the size and power you want, a t28 would be fine at approx 7psi

I dont quite get why you would want anti lag, as most turbos would s**t them selves within a few days and the power you require, its just not needed
