#1: oils and brakes Author: doughboy5, Location: devon(weekends) nr cambridge(in the week)Posted: Sat Apr 30, 2011 4:42 am ---- i have just been down my loacl car parts shop to get a few bits for a service im gunna do this week on there system it said i need fully synthetic oil how ever i fort it was semi synthetic i have a 51 plate gti138 also on brakes i was looking at getting new pads and disk the make they stock is brembo disks and frodo pads are the pads good or can i get better for around same price?

Just get a 5W40 and don't worry about the synthetic/semi synthetic bit. As long as it's a decent recognisable brand it will be fine. Brembo discs and Ferodo pads are perfectly ok.
