#1: HELP! Oil leak on GTi 180 Author: cheekyage, Location: AustraliaPosted: Fri Dec 20, 2013 5:38 pm ---- Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me what engine component this is?
It's located right next to the cam belts and pulley.
I noticed a tiny drop of oil on my garage floor and then looked underneath to find a very small discharge around the black seal.
If anyone can pass on details as to what this is, why it's caused and how to fix it?

I had a slight oil leak when i first bought my 180 which looked like somewhere around the rear of the sump but upon closer inspection it was the rear cam cover and had just run down over time.

I'll take a closer look from above.
