Low coolant warning at certain temperature

#1: Low coolant warning at certain temperature Author: Searcher PostPosted: Sat Apr 23, 2016 9:46 am

Hello,

My 2002 1.4hdi 206 has started throwing Low Coolant temperature warning during temperature range of approx. 65 to 75C or I would say from a little bit less to a little bit more than 70C mark. Once reached to normal temperature it becomes fine again. Coolant level is fine and a couple of months ago I had new Cambelt and Water pump.

What would be the likely culprit?

Thanks in advance to any pointer.

Just to update, I removed the connector to level sensor attached to overflow bottle and sprayed it with WD-40 to get better contact. It has apparently solved the problem. Shall add further updates should the problem return.

Hi,

The WD-40 only worked for a day or two and the problem is still there. A bit intermittent though.

I have also noticed that slow fan does not kick-in without turning the AC on.

Any suggestion where to start? resistor, relay, sensor etc.

Thanks
