Junior went in for the MoT yesterday and I got the call from the garage this morning with the cost.

X-reg car with 150k on the clock, 1.4 8v. She gets driven like I stole her. Paid £500 for her 5 years ago. She's cost me nothing but exhaust and 2 part worn tyres.

MoT cost inc test £92.60.

Failed on a tyre having a crack in the rubber, emissions. Tony put a new tyre on and put some fuel treatment in, hey presto.

Advisories....

Anti rollbar (will cost £25)
Slight corrosion to front coils (buy from eBay and £40 per side fitting)
Slight corrosion to front barkeline (next to nothing)

Like Tony says, the 8v's are built like tanks Smile

I ain't nuts, I'm condiments, I've been promoted

100% agree thre. I've owned 2 1.4 8vs and they've been great even at high mileage. Now I've got a 2.0 GTi which I got pretty cheap and you can see the difference. To be fair the previous owner ragged it to within an inch of its life but still...

Only issue I've ever had was gearbox on the 8v. Pretty sure they're made of cheese...

My cars:
206 Urban 1.4 8v 3dr '56 - China Blue - 70k Miles - Climate control retrofit, cruise control retrofit - Dead (Breaking)

206 GLX 1.4 8v 3dr '03 - 100k Miles - Obsidian Black - Black masked headlights + front fogs, Faster sunroof, Colour matched exterior trim - SOLD

206 2.0 GTI 138 '03 - 58k Miles - Onyx Black - 17" 180 Alloys - Current

206 2.0 GTi 138 '03 - 120k Miles - China Blue - New Track Toy (ON THE WAY)

Driven loads of different PSA Peugeot / Citroen products with TU / MA power unit / transmission combination over the last 20+ years & ive yet to break one.

My 13 year old TU3 206 is at 108K miles now & apart from a clutch replacement at 97K the transmission has been faultless.

Toyota C-HR GR Sport 2.0 Hybrid with JBL & Alcantara packs.
