Bought this about 8 months ago now but only just found this forum!

Its a 1.4 8v Quiksilver, so nothing special engine wise really, just bought it as a good everyday car that looks good too!

So far, ive fitted a stainless backbox, mainly becuase the standard one was made of rust. Ive put vented brakes on it, due to the original solid discs overheating way too easily.

My only plan really at the moment for the car is to lower it 30-35mm, just to improve the handling and look a bit, im impressed with the handling as standard (due to me driving bigger cars mainly before), but it can always be improved Very Happy

Just need to do a bit more reading up on how to adjust the tortion bars!

Pretty nice car. I just lowered my car on 35mm Apex springs and I was amazed at the difference it made. Its not really affected drive-ability ether.

Welcome. Get those bumpstrips colourcoded. You will be surprised how much better it makes the car look.

thanks for the welcome! I am tempted to colour code the bump strips, does anyone know if they come seperate from the bumper? Just incase I decide I dont like them, then i can buy a new set of black ones?

Also, does lowering 35mm make much of a difference to the handling? Planning on dropping it 35mm, and get a front strut brace aswell

Yes they detach from the bumper. you dont need to remove the bumper to take them off.

You should be able to find how to detach them by using the search feature at the top of the page. Most recommend around a 40mm drop for best handling. If you lower it a lot them it won't be as good and there will be more wear on suspension components. Wishbones tend to go quite fast on 206's. I have heard mixed opinions about a strut brace.

ahh ok, il probably go for 40mm then. Ive already put a new pair of wishbones and drop links and a driveshaft since ive had it. Think i need a new top mount though for the front left side, got a bit of knocking when it feels like it, Its there sometimes when I turn the wheel and not at other times. Still need to check this out.

Thanks for the info on the bump strips, Il probably colour code them then, seen a few on here that are colour coded and they do look pretty good!

Hopefully! Make the job a bit cheaper anyway. Gonna wait until I decide to lower it, and just do the mount/bearing at the same time. Saves me upsetting the spring/shock twice.

Not been on here for a while. Done a few things to the car since I started this thread. The car now has a bigger stainless backbox due to my original one being made of rust. Looks a lot better and sounds nice too! Plus it was free so win win! Also painted my rocker cover blue to clean it up a bit and fitted an induction kit.

Replaced the top mount bearing. Nice easy and cheap job and got rid of the knocking noise!

Just ordered some 35mm lowering springs too, can't wait for them to arrive Very Happy will get some pics up soon.
