Hi, I have a 2007 registered Peugeot 206 GTI 180, Its been a great car for 6 years, but in the past week it has acquired a lot of issues.
The present issue i must resolve since it was the first sign that there were issues.
A thumping sound at the back of car when turning the key on, pre ignition.
I know there's a few things at the back where there are components that can fail and potentially cause other issues that will follow.
After the above issue, the cars engine light came on, I noted the exhaust was more noisy, mostly at the exhaust bend at the back, Opening the Bonnet, i noted the engine was running poorly, "It wasn't overheating" ran a diagnostic, which came up with Anti pollution issue, and Coil issue.
I replace Coil and spark plugs, did an oil change and am working on the exhaust. The old spark plugs were absolutely wrecked, except one.
The Car is running better but its still not right, if i leave it over night it will run ok for a while, then revert to sounding rough.
That thumping sound is still present
I'm leaning towards a fuel issue that is both causing the thump and some of the other issues, but id like some opinions before i start spending loads of money trying to find the fault.
The Diagnostics are now ok, but the issues persist.
A different issue that's not related, on the lower left front side, there seems to be a rattle, like something is loose, i've checked what i can but couldn't find anything loose.
Thanks for your help in advance,
I wish everyone a great day.
ian
