today finally got my car back after a new head gasket, but noticed today when driving it, sometimes when i press the trip computer button the rear wiper activates also sometimes seems to give it a funny clicking noise........and when i put the rear wiper on it clears my trip computer.

Anybody have any ideas?

Sounds like a faulty / damaged com unit - wiper stalk controls both these functions.

yeh i was thinking the same thing, although they had the battery off at the place.....so thinking possibly try a bsi reset first to see if it sorts it.......also have read about people taking it apart and fixing it, thinking if its knackered might be worth a punt

The clicking sound is probably the relay, most likely you only noticed it as your're looking for a possible issues if you know what I mean.
For what it's worth just replace the whole comms unit, they're aren't that expensive new and if you're strapped for cash then there is a guy on eBay who refurbs them

nah it aint a relay click, more like a buzz/crackle don't usually get any kinda of noise from the trip computer

think al do a bsi reset first, then pull the end off and see what the crack is......then just get a replacement if needs be, won't hurt to have a gander myself
